What to Expect From a “Come As You Are” Portrait Session in Red Deer
Most people don’t book a photoshoot because they feel ready. The number of people who have told me they’re booking a photoshoot because they feel “ready” vastly pales in comparison to what the majority are saying - “this sounds intriguing but it’s out of my comfort zone.” This tells me something though. It tells me that you’re intrigued (obviously, as per the quote in the last sentence), that you’re drawn to the idea and you want to do it, but that you need more information to feel comfortable and maybe even some permission or reassurance that wanting to do something so extravagantly focused on yourself is okay.
How to find the right boudoir photographer for you
If you’ve been searching for a boudoir photographer, you’re probably not just looking for photos. You’re probably looking for a feeling. Maybe you’re looking for ways to push yourself out of your comfort zone and get that confidence back. Maybe you’re wanting to feel desirable again. Or maybe it’s something harder to put into words.. like wanting to feel like yourself again.
What to Expect During a Portrait Photography Consultation (Before Your Photoshoot)
If you’ve never done something like this before, the idea of booking a portrait session can feel like a lot. Most women start with questions like “what happens before a photoshoot"?” and “what am I supposed to wear to my photoshoot?” as well as awkward feelings, anxiousness and nerves.
Underneath all of that, there’s often a more pointed concern. “Can I actually do this?”
That’s exactly where a portrait photography consultation comes in.
How many outfits should I bring to my photo shoot?
It depends on the kind of session you’re doing and what you want your photos to say about you.
But if you want a starting point: for a full custom portrait session, I typically recommend bringing at least three outfits.
Not because more is better, but because the right amount of variety allows us to tell a fuller, more honest story of who you are.
